February Transmog Of The Month Competition Winner Announced!

Updated: Mar 2

February saw the return of our Transmog of the Month competition, kicking off the the very general theme of 'Your Best Transmog' - We've had 7 entries this month, so lets take a look at them all!

Mystical figure in purple glow holds crystal staff. Text: "TMOTM Winner Announced." Background features swirling patterns.

Kicking us off was Sibbee with a Sylvanas inspired hunter transmog. At first glance it does look like the set we got from the trading post recently, but this mog does actually only use two pieces from that set! With a mixture of items, some from the Nighthold Mythic hunter set, opting also for the single shoulder pad to make a more effective looking hunter mog.

A warrior with a bow and lion in a forest by a lake under a starry sky. Inventory items listed. Mood is adventurous.

Goat chipped in with this delightfully-terrifying 'Forbidden Fox' transmog, which, is both hilarious and scary at the same time, quite the feat! The only criticism I can give this set is that there were a few items used from the Blood Hunter's set from the trading post a while back, however the creative choice of main and off-hand weapons here, really hits the cannibalistic furry ball of bloodsucking theme home.

Fabian was bringing the fel energy with his FFS (For Fel Satur) Transmog on his Orc Warlock. Green with Gul'Dan envy, this set did an excellent job of flowing the bone coloured elements of the helmet, shoulder pads and staff through the transmog. Now robes can be tricky with these kinds of sets, do you go with a relatively plain one that matches, or an ornate and intricate one like the one chosen by Fabian? The robe choice here does work well!

Rolik submitted this fantastic Dracthy Warrior transmog, making clever use of the Legion Artifact Protection Warrior 'Scales of the Earth-Warder' Bringing holding onto that Draconic heritage. Now with Dracthyr, it can be very difficult playing around the transmog limitations when in your Dragon form, only being able to see certain parts of the set, it can often lead to Shoulderpads especially, looking out of place on the dragon model, being unable to work well with the armor that the dragons use in their Dracthy forms. Thankfully, any non-evoker Dracthy can choose to remain in their humanoid visage forms. That is not necessary here however, look how well Rolik did in working the set work in both forms.

TheGreatArrambe was next to submit, with a set inspired from a game outside of the World of Warcraft universe... Tekken! Using the sturdy frame of the Kul Tiran male, on his Shaman, Arrambe knocks this mog out of the park with a brilliant rendition of Tekken's Heiachi Mishima. The 'hair' is perfect, it tricked me on first glance. Using the Devoted Aspirant's Hood for this is pure genius.

Next we have this entry from CrayonWalruZ, who brought this brilliant Arthas Menethil, Warcraft 3 Inspired transmog, which slaps. Upon closer inspection there is blending of a couple of sets with some unique appearances mixed in too. The weapon is a blast from the past also! Perfect choice of blues, and the actual shoulder pad on the left is so similar to the one Arthas wears in the orignal WC3 game. This transmog went HARD.

Nikola was our next entry with this glorious looking paladin set, you paladins really do know how to shine. This set ties together so nicely with the blues and yellows/golds, making nice use of the Prowler's mask that have been on the Trading Post recently. The tricky thing with those masks, is the colour of the eyes slits often doesn't match the colour of the face mask part and the hood, so sometimes the colour radiating from the eyes doesn't go well with the set you are aiming to put together. Not a problem here though, as the blues compliment perfectly! A difficulty here is getting the gold of that shield to match any other piece, as there are very few items in game that share that same tint of gold, but it does go pretty well with the weapon of choice!

Our final entry came from Flynnjushwua. Big fan of this red and golden Mail Hunter set, with a bit of black thrown in there too, looking at the website it's clear I'm a fan of red and black! Personal bias aside, this set makes creative use of some items scattered around the various events of the Dragonflight expansion, such as the Dreambound chainmail vest, and Dracthyr treads, matching very nicely with the Ruby Jewelled Shoulderpad choice. The belt is an interesting part of the mog, and I love how the black/grey colour there goes perfectly with the chain mail elements of the chest piece, lovely coordination! Along with the weapon choice including quiver, this is a very well put together transmog.
